summer hats

summer hats

J.Crew Panama Hat
GAP Striped Fedora
Team Rival Snapback Cap
Anthropologie Floppy Hat
Floppy Brim Hat
Rag & Bone Dot Print Cap

With the summer here, hats are an often overlooked essential item. With a hat you can give yourself instant shade when the sun is blaring; which is why I tote mine around like it's nobody's business {along with my sunglasses}. They are also great when you are having a few too many bad hair days. Shown above, I compiled a few chic hats and baseball caps that are lightweight and provide great sun protection. I have the J.Crew Panama Hat and I love it but I also want a few more this season to rotate when I'm at the pool, amusement park, or at a baseball game.

Happy Day before Friday friends! I wore this outfit for Cinco De Mayo. I found this skull tee when spring cleaning a few weeks ago and you know that feeling you get when you haven't seen something treasured in a long while; elation. True to my nature when I find something I love and that is comfy, I wear it on repeat. Which is exactly what I've been doing since Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, this particular one coming is Mother's Day. My very first as a mommy. We'll be celebrating with my family and I can't wait to celebrate all the mommies in my life but truth be told I am mostly looking forward to the food and stuffing my piehole. :)

Have a great one dolls!

the last days of summer

Blazer: Aqua for Bloomingdale's {similar} | Top: vintage | Shorts: Joe's Jeans {similar}
Wedges: Stuart Weitzman | Bag: BCBG Max Azria | Hat: H&M
Jewelry: vintage + Anthropologie necklaces, vintage bracelets

I spent the day with my little man and hubby at Central Park last week. The day was beautiful for late August, with not a cloud in sight nor humidity. There was virtually no green space on the grass as every New Yorker stepped out to catch some rays, either during their lunch hour or on their way home.

I love the summertime, but I am really looking forward to the Fall season. I love autumn in New York. I am most looking forward to the changing leaves, Pumpkin Spice Latte {oh yeah!}, taking my son apple and pumpkin picking {although we'll be doing the picking this year}, crisp and cool days {perfect for jogging}, Noah's first Halloween {smile), hot apple cider {makes my heart smile}, the return of favorite Fall TV shows {and new ones}, and NYFW {New York Fashion Week}. Unfortunately, I will be missing all of the NYFW activities this year. Womp! Womp! Are any of you going? If you are, don't forget to check out all the happenings, the schedules, and who is where here and here

all things lace

Jacket: Nine West {old} | Blazer: Anthropologie {old} | Jeans: 7FAM Dojo
Tank: BCBG {old} | Shoes: Schutz | Clutch: Curly in the City
Jewelry: H&M lion head {recent}, Urban Outfitters, Etsy necklaces; H&M bangles
Lips: LORAC Honey | Nails: Essie Lacy not Racy

This lace blazer was one of those items that as soon as I saw it I just had to have it. Today, it is one of my favorite go-to blazers and I can always count on it to dress up any plain outfit. It is rather heavy, though, so it is only fall and winter-appropriate.

Do you guys have any items that are in your absolute favorites rotation?

Here's to a productive week!

A little glitz and glam for this unseasonably "warm" Monday morning, at least in NYC standards. Here's to a very productive week! Have a good one everyone.

Spent a Merry Christmas Eve with those dearest and closest to me, my family. My jaw hurt from laughing so much and watching my 17-month old niece focus on tearing up the wrapping paper instead of focusing on opening her gifts. I'm sure next Christmas it will be a totally different story. As always, the day went by in a blur of activity and it was all over much too soon. As is the routine year after year, now begins the countdown to 2012. Hope you all enjoyed your Holidays with loved ones!

By the way, this lucky girl received a very special gift for Christmas. :) I'll be sharing that with you later this week.

tis the season...

Faux Fur Vest: Michael Kors | Dress: H&M | Boots: Alloy
Skull Scarf: Alexander McQueen | Bag: vintage Gucci
Necklace: Anthropologie {old}| Bracelets: J. Crew, Forever 21, CC Skye
Ring: Banana Republic

This weekend we put up our Christmas tree and it took all the energy I had not to quit in the middle of it. Don't get me wrong, readers, I luurrve Christmas decorating {after all, it's my favorite holiday} but I kind of lost my motivation mid-way because I tend to get bored of looking at the same ornaments year after year. We kind of wanted to get new ones this year, but couldn't stomach paying the insane amount some of these stores are asking {of course, the beautiful ones are the most expensive} so I chalked it up and just decided to use the same ones and to change it up slightly we did a monochromatic color this year instead of using combo colors. The new ornaments will have to wait until next year when we move into our new place. I'll try and take photos of the tree later on this week to show you. On a more successful note, it's always good when you are pulling out the Christmas storage and find brand new Christmas cards you totally forgot you bought last year. Score! For those of you who decorated a tree this year, what color scheme did you go with?

HAPPY MONDAY
