rock center

Lord + Taylor Coat {old, last worn here}. H+M snood and hat. Michael Kors leather gloves.
Zara top {old}. 7FAM jeans. J.Crew belt. Via Spiga boots. MAC Viva Glam lips.

Our holiday festivities would not be complete without a trip in below 50 degree weather to see the iconic Rockefeller Center Tree. Every year, we like to head into the city to battle the crowds to see the tree and the holiday windows at NYC's famous department stores a.k.a. Saks, Macy's, Bergdorf, Bloomies, etc. It is such a touristy thing to do, but we enjoy it nonetheless and it has become the quintessential Christmas experience. This year, it was extra special because our little man joined us. {Tip: It is "less crowded" if you go on a weeknight and not too close to Christmas.} I just love the energy of the city around this time, the bright lights, the lovely decor and the streets are buzzing (even more so) with shoppers.
And every year, I always end with the same thought:
There truly is no place like New York for the Holidays.

P.S. Is it corny that I am super excited my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans fit?!!

the new york city wine and food festival {nycwff}

the new york city wine and food festival
Larry and I had the honor of attending the Food Network's New York City Wine + Food Festival's Grand Tasting two weekends ago. This event is held every year in October, and this was their 5th year. I won tickets via Twitter for Mastercard's Priceless NY Experience. If I were to sum up the event in one word: PRICELESS! My favorites were the culinary demos with Paula Deen, Andrew Zimmern, and Rachael Ray as well as the seafood samples and the strip house steak with creamed spinach. I had way too many wine samples to remember which one I liked the best, but one drink that did stand out was the Licor 43 with heavy cream a.k.a. "little beer." Wow! To say this "little beer" was tasty is an understatement. If you want to try it, check out this quick and easy recipe. To see more snapshots of the event, including more of what we ate, go to my Instagram

peach sorbet

Blazer: Forever 21 {recent} | Jeans: Forever 21 | Tank: Target {old}
Booties: Via Spiga | Scarf: street vendor | Bag: Cole Haan
Jewelry: Forever 21 necklace {old}, vintage elephant bracelet and ASOS bracelets
Nails: Essie Coral Reef

The weather has been quite dreary around these parts the past week; weather that only calls for something bright and cheery to lift the mood. Enter this peach blazer, that reminds me of sorbet. It's the perfect cut for my pregnant belly (I can even button it! Score!) and the perfect length to cover my booty. Needless to say, this one will be making quite the rotation in my wardrobe this spring and summer. Speaking of, who is looking forward to all the summer fashion?! I, for one, am excited to get back into my regular clothes.
