I can't believe it's the middle of August already. Where has the summer gone?! Only a few more weeks of summer bliss left. Every year it seems the back-to-school commercials are being shown earlier and earlier. I sometimes still get that dreaded feeling in the pit of my stomach that school is starting up again soon...then reality kicks in and I realize I don't go to school anymore and then relief sets in.  I'm sad that summer is quickly flying by, so any day that begins and ends on the beach makes me very happy. My little family and I headed to the shores of Long Island this Saturday for some fun in the sun. Hopefully our tans last as long as the winter does. Fat chance! J.Crew triangle top. We walked in the Dominican Parade yesterday and we had the best time. I always jump at the chance to support my people and my heritage. If you've never been to the Dominican Republic, you have to put it on your list of countries to visit. I'm biased though. It's not only fairly inexpensive to visit, but the total experience is incomparable. There are alot of newly developed resorts, especially on Punta Cana, that are all-inclusive meaning food, drinks and numerous activities are included in the small price. Hey! I just had an idea: why not center a post on it. I can tell you guys the best times during the year to visit, hotels, I even have experience if any of you are looking to have a destination wedding. Is that something you guys would be interested in? pit stop for some yumminess on a cone and dirty water dawgs at Gray's Papaya!  itchin' for some new running sneaks. these were pretty hot!  homemade veggie cauliflower crust pizza: healthy, gluten free and delicious! don't knock it 'til you try it.

Happy Monday loves! How was your weekend? I spent Friday night with the girls, sans husband and baby, at Cavo Lounge in my old neighborhood. It felt good to be back there. I spent two years living in Astoria with my roommate and friend before meeting Larry. It was two years full of memories, great experiences, late nights and firsts so I hold those memories close to me. Astoria will always have a special place in my heart. But I digress. It turned out to be a great late night filled with lots of dancing and drinks. We spent the weekend at the park, strolling through our neighborhood, running errands, sleeping in, last minute shopping among other things. The weather this weekend was mixed; Saturday was the perfect weather with a high of 75 with a cool breeze but Sunday was off and on rain which is always great for sleeping and a great excuse for being lazy. We are heading to Lake George this week, we have a few stops we want to make and it'll be a first for us so if you have any recommendations on what to do or see while we are there please shoot me an email or write it in the comments. It's Monday already!? Where did the weekend go? Hope yours was fabulous! Our weekend was spent drinking, spring cleaning, at the park, drinking, eating, shopping, and did I already say drinking?! We finally put away the winter gear (buh-bye! hope to not see you soon) and dusting off the spring wardrobe. As much as I love my faux furs, blazers and winter boots; I am so looking forward to donning pretty, bright colors on my toes (or as I like to call them, 'my mini hot dogs') and showing them off in peep toes and sandals. Ahhhhh! Feet were meant to breathe! Although it's still not Spring weather outside, I figure if I can at least look at the brighter, colored tops and bottoms sitting in my wardrobe I can take my mind to a happier place, and maybe somehow coerce the Spring weather to come out of hiding and stay for awhile. *fingers crossed* All I can do is try, people. All I can do is try...
