fall wish list - booties

fall booties 2013

I predict that ankle booties will be the shit this fall season. From flat to mid to high heel, they look good on almost anyone. The trick in getting a pair is to not let it cut you off at the foot and make you look stumpy if you are vertically challenged. What you pair them with also makes a big difference. Skinny jeans, a dress or skirt, leggings, or shorts are all perfect accompaniments to ankle booties but finding the right style boot is essential to creating the look you are going for. I find that they look best when worn with skinny jeans tapered at the ankle so you don't get that bunched up look. Jeans cuffed at the ankle are another cute alternative but if you are vertically challenged like myself, you have to be careful that too much cuffing doesn't shorten your already short legs. In short (haha), I personally like the cuffed hems, as it adds a bit of edge to the look. And I do love me some edge boyeee. Fashion trick: wear black slim or skinny jeans with black ankle boots so there is no line of distinction. Easy peasy.

It's Monday already!? Where did the weekend go? Hope yours was fabulous! Our weekend was spent drinking, spring cleaning, at the park, drinking, eating, shopping, and did I already say drinking?! We finally put away the winter gear (buh-bye! hope to not see you soon) and dusting off the spring wardrobe. As much as I love my faux furs, blazers and winter boots; I am so looking forward to donning pretty, bright colors on my toes (or as I like to call them, 'my mini hot dogs') and showing them off in peep toes and sandals. Ahhhhh! Feet were meant to breathe! Although it's still not Spring weather outside, I figure if I can at least look at the brighter, colored tops and bottoms sitting in my wardrobe I can take my mind to a happier place, and maybe somehow coerce the Spring weather to come out of hiding and stay for awhile. *fingers crossed* All I can do is try, people. All I can do is try...

trend alert: metallic pumps

Metallic Pumps

Lately, Metallic Pumps seem to be EVERYWHERE. On the runways, on celebrities, and have even been seen splashed on fashion sneakers. They have the potential to take a basic outfit up a few notches on the wow spectrum and if done correctly can take an outfit from day to night. The metallic trend is definitely not conservative. If I were able to splurge, these Jimmy Choos and these Giuseppe Zanottis would be on the very top of my list. If you are loving the metallic trend but don't want to spend too much, here is a less expensive alternative.

Happy Monday, friends! How was your weekend? Congrats to all the Raven-ers! I tuned into half-time and Beyonce's performance was fabulous and how great was Destiny's Child little come-back?! I must admit, though, the commercials weren't up to par with previous years. All in all, it was an eventful and fun weekend!
Hope your Monday is productive.

trend alert : the cap toe

There seems to be a growing trend with the cap toe heel. Personally, I think the look is quite chic and am lusting after these splurge-worthy heels. I am loving the new spin on the classic pump and for those of you that crave comfort and style you can find them in flats as well.
And if you are feeling creative, you can also DIY the look.

Happy Monday loves!
