happy weekend + links i love

A how to guide on wearing cut-offs.

Sometimes I get a mixologist complex and I think I can whip up a good cocktail; this website totally enables me. But don't get it twisted, this site is for boys and girls. Now there is no excuse not to make a delicious drink...or two...or three!

I'm pretty obsessed with any thing party-related, so I can add this cake stand to my list of wants {needs!}.

I love Kat and her blog, so I was excited to sneak a peek into her home and decor. I was not disappointed.

HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

interior inspiration : cowhide rugs

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Lately, I find myself drawn to cowhide rugs in all colors, patterns, and styles but my favorite is the zebra print. When styled correctly, it provides the right amount of animal print and chicness to an otherwise boring space or room. The organic shapes lend beautifully to any room, and they fit effortlessly into many different decorating styles. Cowhide rugs are sexy, stylish and they are really easy to maintain {they are actually very hard to stain}. I see these rugs as an investment piece, because they do not run cheap but are well worth the money.
Do you guys love it or hate it?

When looking online for interior eye candy, I notice I start to salivate and my heart palpitates at a thousand beats per minute when looking at more modern and contemporary looks than anything else. I also love a vintage and old vibe edge thrown in here and there in accessories, night tables, a rustic dresser, or lamp. I think it's the clean, sophisticated edges and elements that catch my eye. Here are a few inspirational photos that have caught my inner decorista eye lately. And if you haven't noticed, I have a slight unhealthy obsession with chandeliers.

office inspiration

My friend and business partner, Sue, is trying to decorate her home office and wanted help with some decor ideas. Her color palette is blue and white with oak wood floors. Blue is an excellent color for an office as it offers warmth; a calming, serene environment and is an excellent feng shui color. Perfect to get some work done. Her chosen colors of blue and white promote happiness, create peace and will bring great energy and balance into her work space.

Here are some inspirational photos she's looking at. Which one is your favorite?

closet | dressing room envy

I've built my dream closet in my mind countless times and tried to figure out how to dream it into life. I've always fantasized about having my own custom made closet one day to store my zillion pairs of shoes, my mountain of clothes and the endless supply of coats, jewelry and bags that are presently overstuffed in my closet. What girl doesn't dream of a closet that resembles a small boutique?
And, who can forget Carrie Bradshaw's walk-in closet on Sexy & the City 2?! Talk about closet envy!
