running playlist (and a giveaway!)

Running Playlist
For those of you who are like me and need some good music to further elevate your workout, a good playlist is extremely important to get your heart pumping. Music is most definitely my saving grace on my runs and workouts; so I created a playlist that will take you from a warm up to a good cardio to cool down and am sharing it with you guys. Hopefully, it will help some of you.

AND NOW, A GIVEAWAY!!

I have teamed up with Sole Provisions this week. They specialize in comfort shoes that do not compromise fashion. I, for one, am no stranger to comfort shoes when out and about here in the city - these concrete streets are unforgiving on heels and my feet. So, they are a must when commuting as well. Sole Provisions wanted to do a fun giveaway to offer one of my readers (open to men and women) a free pair from their FitFlop or Orthaheel Collections. If you are heading to any amusement or water parks this summer, these are perfect footwear choices to help you get around without having to worry about foot pain. Did you know FitFlop also makes sneakers for men and women!? Say wha!? These are my top picks: Glitter, Super T (also in silver & black patent!), Sequins, All Weather

To enter you must be a U.S. Resident (so sorry, not open to international residents at this time). Use Rafflecopter below for your entries - you get an easy entry by liking Red Velvet and Leopard on Facebook and extra bonus entries by following me on twitter and tweeting about the giveaway. This giveaway ends next Wednesday, August 14th so be sure to enter before then. Winner will be chosen at random and I will announce it on the blog next Thursday. Good luck and thank you for following! :)

NYC Runs 5K

Happy day before Friday! It is presently a cool, 65 degrees in New York today. Feels sooooo nice! Yesterday evening, I ran my first 5k and it was fun and an experience. But the rush that came after felt soooo good (see my jumping pic below for reference) ;). For those that don't know, a 5k is 3.1 miles approximately. It wasn't an easy run as there were approximately 3 hills but since we ran back the way we came up, we had bonus downhills. You better believe I loved that! We were blessed with a beautiful evening; no humidity or rain. It was a perfect night for a run! I loved the encouraging people along the route, pushing you on and motivating you forward. My boys were waiting, cheering me on at the finish line, it was the happiest sight I ever did see....well that, and the finish line tape! Ha! Would I do it again? Absolutely.
