Happy Tuesday loves! Hope you are all having a great day, so far. Can we just stop for a moment and have a moment of silence for these faux leather shorts? *cue elevator music* If I told you I loved them, it'd be an understatement. They are perfect in every way but then again isn't everything Zara makes?! I am a self-dubbed Zara whore, seriously. If I wore everything I owned from Zara on the blog it would take the element of surprise out of every outfit post. I checked and they don't have these shorts on their website anymore, but these are similar. Now let's talk about these sandals. I've had these sandals for well over a year and I just realized this is the first time I've worn them on the blog. I'm a bad girl! When they first came out, I think every blogger in Blog Land scooped them up. That's what usually happens when you mix shoe-a-holics and a gorgeous shoe at a great price point. Naturally, I gravitate towards colors like red, black, animal print, and brown but these stood out to me moreso than the other color choices because of the great color combo. So these sexy green and blue sandals were a perfect pop of color to add to my collection. I'm getting sassy in my old age.

Raspberry Banana Chia Smoothie. Delicious!

Hey party people! How was everyone's weekend? Could it have gone any quicker!? We spent the day on Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese for my friend's daughter's graduation party. I seriously cannot remember the last time I was at one. It was fun, and we were able to put Noah on a few rides. He's still in awe of moving objects - his face registers surprise everytime we put him on a ride as if he is trying to figure who or what is moving the thing. It's the funniest thing. Father's Day was nice and relaxing; I made hubby some delicious sugar waffles, which if you've never had you simply must. They take slightly longer than regular waffles but the process is so worth it and so is the caramelization. Yum! And with that folks, the weekend was over. Womp! Womp! Thankfully, today was beautiful out and felt a lot like summer. Speaking of which, it'll officially be Summer Solstice this Friday. How are you celebrating?

beach reads

There is nothing a good, juicy book can't fix....but I speak for myself. I've loved reading ever since I can remember. I have my favorite subjects, but I'll read almost anything as long as it's good. One of my favorite places to read is by the pool or oceanside. My beach reads typically consist of light, fun chick lit like The Shopaholic Series or Something Borrowed that are quick reads and don't require much brain power to process. With summer quickly approaching, the list of "deep" books I want to read keep building so I am ditching my 'keeping it light for the summer' rule. I just finished up Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl and boy did it leave me wanting more. Gillian Flynn also wrote Dark Places which I understand is another 'heavy' read, and one I am going to pick up right away. A few others on my list are: The Great Gatsby, Reconstructing Amelia, Revenge Wears Prada {sequel to Devil Wears Prada}, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling and the Divergent Series which is similar to Hunger Games for those that read that series. I heard they are turning it into a movie! If you need other ideas, take a look at Huffington Post's Best Beach Reads of 2013 here. Happy Reading!
